Mustang Mare Lakota and her Mustang Filly Stormy - Lakota's first day under saddle and rider is one for the story books. Lakota had been ridden a handful of times bareback on the farm. A beautiful summer day arrived and a trail ride was planned with friends. Lakota was loaded up and taken to the trails where she was saddled for the first time. We were all tense with anticipation as we watched her rider situate himself in the saddle and prepare for the unexpected. Lakota was the true Star of the day! She rode like a true seasoned trail horse. This my friends is a testament to the trust a Mustang has for the people they bond with.
Stormy is Lakota's yearling Mustang filly that is also pictured above with her Mother. Stormy is never the same color twice, when the seasons change so does her color.
